Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation
On November 12, 2020, in Nur-Sultan, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
The memorandum was signed by Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliev and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii.
The heads of the ministries of the two countries discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of transport and transport infrastructure, as well as the conditions for the introduction of a single transit permit between the participants of the TRACECA project to increase the competitiveness of the corridor.
Today, permits are printed on paper, but Kazakhstan is actively working with partners to convert them to electronic format. Hungary, Germany, Greece, Iran, Latvia, Moldova, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkey have already supported our proposal. Ukraine also spoke out in favor of information technology.
The participants of the Kazakh-Ukrainian meeting dwelt in detail on promising projects of interaction in the field of civil aviation, railway transport and international freight road transport between our countries, as well as the possibility of attracting additional freight traffic in the direction of China - Kazakhstan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Ukraine - European countries using sea ports of the Black and Caspian Seas.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the results of the negotiations and signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of creating innovative technologies and information systems, on the procedure for exchanging permits for international road freight transport.
